Work starts on new Reading skatepark

Work starts on 8 July on a new £65k skate park to be installed in Prospect Park near the junction with Honey End Lane and Bath Road.

The park is being funded by 106 receipts and the West Area Youth Team have held a series of consultations with young people at Southcote Youth and Community Centre and one of the designers. The young people put forward their ideas for the park which the designer incorporated into the project.

It’s hoped the park will be open in time for the school summer holidays.
