Reading Thames Water Sewer Collapse

A collapsed Thames Water sewer under Caversham Road, in North Reading means the northbound carriageway of the IDR will need to be closed from Friday (Sep 20th) evening and through the weekend for emergency repairs to take place.

The collapsed sewer is on the northbound section of Caversham Road, near to Drews the Ironmongers. Thames Water has now informed the Council that they need the temporary closure of the northbound lanes on this stretch of the IDR in order to investigate the extent of the collapsed sewer and carry out the necessary repairs.
