Reading Families Invited to Free Twin Towns Celebration

A free family event will celebrate Reading’s international links on Friday October 11th, 7pm at the Civic Centre.

The associations for Reading’s twin towns – Clonmel in Ireland, San Francisco Libre in Nicaragua, Düsseldorf in Germany and Speightstown in Barbados – will be hosting an evening of culture, cuisine and celebration.

Highlights include: music from a steel pan group and a ceilidh band; a performance by Irish dancers; children’s art from San Francisco Libre and an exhibition of photographs from Düsseldorf.

Free refreshments include: Irish delicacies soda bread, Tipperary blue cheese and black and white puddings; and Barbadian favourites plantain, fish fritters and rum cake and punch.
