Reading College Open Evening 15 May

Reading College, will be hosting an Open Evening for future students and parents on the 15th May 2013.

The event provides a unique opportunity for young people to find out more about the different academic and vocational courses and apprenticeships available at the college, as well as an opportunity to meet the tutors and undertake a tour around the various different departments.

‘Go Further’
Reading College offers a wide range of apprenticeships and courses covering numerous subjects. The scope of the courses range from technical to creative, to academic and vocational with a focus on providing students with the tools and skills to succeed in their future chosen career.

The college also provides expert advice and support for those students who want to progress to university. For those students who want to head directly into employment Reading College have its own unique entrepreneur programme, the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.

Lesley Donoghue, Principal at Reading College, comments: “Our students develop learning skills, which will help them to fulfil their potential, and improve their employability skills, giving them the edge when they leave us to pursue their ambitions. The Open Evening is aimed at showcasing the wide and varied options that we have on offer which really do cater for all, especially now that we are also able to offer 24+ loans to adult learners.”

During the Open Evening event there will also be:

• Details of new part-time adult courses – including Higher Education
• A dedicated area for Higher Education including an Oxford Brookes stand, who partner with Reading College
• Chris Snowden, The Student Finance Adviser for the Southern Region will also be available to inform future students and parents on current funding options and the new 24+ loans for students aged over 24
• The Reading College team will be on hand to provide all the career advice and guidance you need
